ABOUT AFT Founder, Lety
"Adaptive Family Travel was born from my deeply personal journey raising twin sons on the Autism Spectrum and witnessing how travel could unlock confidence, joy, and possibility in ways I never imagined. Beginning at just five years old, my boys ventured through national parks, sandy beaches, mountain towns, and destinations around the world—each experience helping them build communication skills, independence, resilience, and a stronger connection to themselves and others. Travel became more than a getaway; it became a pathway to growth, empowerment, and belonging."
ABOUT AFT Co-Founder, Mike
Mike is a Certified Autism Travel Professional and co-founder of Adaptive Family Travel. As Mickey’s and Xavi’s stepfather since their high school years, he witnessed firsthand how travel helped them mature, gain independence, and grow in confidence as young adults on the autism spectrum. Today, he brings compassion and practical insight to families navigating the unique joys and challenges of raising neurodivergent children while creating meaningful and memorable travel experiences.

ABOUT AFT Peer Navigator, Mickey
Mickey serves as the Peer Navigator for Adaptive Family Travel because he understands firsthand the challenges and possibilities that come with growing up neurodivergent. Diagnosed as moderate on the autism spectrum with a severe speech delay, and through early and consistent exposure to travel across the United States and abroad, Mickey developed confidence, communication skills, adaptability, and independence. Now a college student majoring in psychology, he is passionate about helping other families see how meaningful travel experiences can help children with special needs thrive.

She combines professional expertise with personal insight gained from supporting her cousins, twins Mickey and Xavi, through their sensory and motor challenges.
